Appearence:
With hair varying from dirty blonde to white blonde depending on the amount of sun she's getting, and her dark, fairly huge eyes, Arielle is definitely pretty. Sure, she's a little skinnier than necessary (underweight, even) and sure, she's rather short (she prefers "petite") but chances are, if Arie offered, a boy wouldn't say no. Or girl, considering she swings that way too. Her skin is pale, and her teeth are white too, with only the slightest overbite. Arielle's eyes are especially interesting. They convey innocence, and are usually directed somewhere beyond the real world, giving her the appearance of being elsewhere. She doesn't actually see anything that others don't, it just appears that way. Her eyes are consistently wide, and seem surprisingly sharp during her rare moments of apparent lucidity. She usually wears her hair loose, but will grudgingly put in a ponytail for cheerleading or change it up for formal events.Personality:
Her style is all over the place. One day she'll be in a girly dress, another day in a pretty shirt and jeans, and yet another in mesh gloves, a skirt and boots. Sometimes she'll just wear her cheerleading uniform and call it a day. Her amount of dressing up all depends on if she feels up to it that morning, so you can expect a more involved outfit on a Tuesday than on a Monday, the day after a weekend of parties. She basically dresses in what she feels like in the morning. She looks good in almost anything, so it's not really a problem. Besides, her unique style choices set her apart from the other Preps and get her noticed, so that's a definite plus.
Her curves are minimalist, but they're there. She has slim hips, and a chest that's not flat, but is nothing compared to the assets of some other girls. Despite her small frame, she's got a little muscle from cheerleading. But just a little. After all, you can't be around people who care with their immortal soul about being skinny and end up too sinewy, can you?
Arielle may seem ditzy and spacey... and that's because she is. She's off in dream world more than half the time, and you have to repeat instructions to her often. But she's not stupid. In fact, there's some deep shit going on behind those doe-like eyes. Underestimating her could be the worst mistake you ever make. She's surprisingly ambitous, but doesn't know where she wants to be. She's not afraid to work for her unknown goal, and she's smarter than she lets on.History:
Oh, it's not as if the ditzy thing is an act. No, she's actually kind of dreamy and vague. It's just that she's surprisingly astute, and gets good grades without real effort. Her brains are accidentally concealed beneath a "dumb blonde" exterior, and because of this people often think they can take advantage of her. No, the girl knows what's up. But she may just play along for fun. Why? Well, that's another thing about Arie.
She's easily bored. And when she gets like that, she'll do almost anything for a reprieve. She likes cheerleading because it keeps her active, but would have no problem switching to another clique. She's not really attached to being a Prep, and it can't be said that she wouldn't transfer to another clique if given the chance. There's usually an entirely different thought going through her head than the one she'll say to you.
This doesn't mean she's two-faced. Not really. She just thinks differently than a lot of people, and notices things that others wouldn't. Then she realizes that people might not want certain things pointed out, and she veers off and says something wierd, and so begins to process of Arie saying something that she isn't actually thinking. Or witholding her thoughts, rather. She can be extremely blunt at times, but only if she trusts the person she's talking to enough to tell them what she sees. This attribute would make her rather good at gossiping, but when she notices something important, she rarely actually tells people what it is, so the word only spreads if someone she trusts gets to her first.
This actually brings up something else about her. The girl has some trust issues. Not huge ones, but she was betrayed by a good friend in middle school in exchange for movement up the status ladder. That's why she's not particuarly attached to her clique. She knows that nothing lasts forever. And out of those things that don't last, social status is the shakiest. But at the same time, she wants to be high on the social ladder because she knows it's good to be there, while it matters, meaning that if she switched cliques she'd aim for Royal Court. And if that didn't work out? She'd try almost everything else, even those lower on the totem pole. People are complicated, and Arielle Sawyer is no exception.
One last thing? Arie may seem semi-level headed... twenty percent of the time, but along with her other quirks, she's a total hopeless romantic. She believes in true love, and love at first sight, and any of that other mushy junk cynics try to ward off. She's not looking for love at the moment, but she believes in it. She'll always be the first one to gush over a new couple, or try to help a pair of lovebirds sort things out without splitting. In her opinion, there's too little love in the world and we should hang on to what we have. This doesn't mean she isn't into a non-consequential hookup now and again, but if a guy wants to win her heart (rather than just her body), the best plan is a grand romantic gesture. And if you want a little hint, Arie is obsessed with sugar. She seems to eat it all the time and never gain a pound... or get really hyper, oddly enough.
Arielle Rose Sawyer was born on April 12th, sixteen years ago. She's the only daughter of Vivienne and Jonathan Sawyer, and the younger sister of now seventeen year old Jace Sawyer. Arielle grew up under the domain of a controlling, over-bearing mother who wanted her daughter to live a continuation of her life, and a yeilding father that let his wife have the reins during the rare moments when he was home. She took gymnastics because her mother wanted her to. She took horseback riding because her mother wanted her to. Eventually, she grew old enough to know how to refuse, and she started doing things because she wanted to. However, her mother's influence isn't gone completely, and if she screws up she knows she'll never hear the end of it. This puts her in an odd position; she's scared of doing something and getting found out by her mother, but part of her wants to rebel. This causes her to be both impulsive and cautious alternatively.Sample Rp:
Arie and her brother Jace used to be very close, until he began to grow up and off to the side. While Arie found herself a permanent feature in a series of fairly popular groups, Jace is more into doing his own thing. He actually despises the popularity scene, and shifts away from his sister in public. Not to mention, his off-color behavior has utterly dissapointed his dad, who then switched his attentions to Arielle. She's been treated almost like an only child since she was eleven. They barely awknowlege Jace. He's the black sheep of the family. The outcast. The rebel. And no one seems to mind his distance from the rest of them besides Arielle, who desperately wants her brother back.
In eighth grade, Arielle had a close friend. They did almost everything together; were in the same clique, liked similar things, and had been that way for all of middle school. Until one of the queenlier bitches in the spotlight befriended Arie's bestie, and just about offered her a spot by her side if she got her a night with Jace. Arie wasn't to be persuaded, even though it was her best friend that asked, and it was eventually her that was offered for sacrafice, in the form of a mass text gabbing all about how Arie had a thing for her brother. Total lies, but gossip is more fun when it's untrue. Some people still haven't forgotten this little incident... and Arie certainly hasn't.
In ninth grade, Arielle tried out for cheerleading. This was mainly to get away from last year's storm of rumors by doing something else note-worthy, and to her surpise, she made the team. All those years of doing flips, cartwheels and twists in the class her mother signed her up for finally paid off. This boosted her social worth back to where had been before, maybe even higher. However, she still hasn't gotten over the sting of betrayal, and it takes a lot before she'll truly trust someone, though she may act like she does long before that.
It wasn't long after her cheerleading debut that her brother became more cold to her, even going as far as avoiding her in public. He had no way of knowing that she had nearly ruined her reputation trying to defend him, though he himself had never seen the text- due to Arie stealing his phone and deleting the numerous different copies he had received. Her lone wolf brother continues to keep out of her way, and spends his time at home holed up in his room. Arie wants things to go back to the way they were, but she's almost afraid of this new brother, this alien and strange being that looks like a boy she had known. But as it stands at the moment, they barely have occasion to speak.
Vienna's head shot up as a light knock intruded on her pitiful, ridiculous tears. Who could it be? One of her roommates back from their activities? A teacher who noticed she was missing and wished to punish her? She had suffered enough punishment today, one far more painful than a detention. Vienna pulled herself up using the wall, leaning against it for a moment. All that spinning had made her dizzy. Finally the girl ventured for the door, deciding to claim illness and make whoever it was go the hell away. No one was allowed to see her like this, not until she had pulled herself together, re-brushed her hair, and forced her silly little heart to suck it up and quit whining already.Celeb:
But a voice from the other side stopped her in her tracks. "Vienna. It's Mason." He sounded more.... subdued than usual. Mason, the Mason that she knew, would've broken her door down without knocking, and definitely wouldn't have announced his presence. Her Mason (She had to stop thinking of him like that. It was entirely counterproductive.) would've taken her by surprise. He probably would've come through the window if the door was locked. But this one? This Mason didn't. But Vienna would know that voice anywhere, weak at the knees as it made her.
"Mason?" This question was not spoken above a whisper, as it was not intended for the boy separated from her by only a plank of wood. It was intended for her. What was he doing here? What could he possibly have come for?
Well, obviously he had come for her, for he had said her name, but why? What did he want? What else could he possibly take? He couldn't be there to apologize.
...Could he?
Did Mason know how to apologize? Vienna didn't think she had ever heard the word cross his lips. He was one to claim he had no faults and blame the other person.
Besides, what would he be apologizing for? It was her stupid fault for being attached to him and overreacting. Mason was just being... Mason. It was her own fault she got hurt.
Though it wasn't like he didn't contribute.
Vienna moved closer to the door as if pulled by some invisible string. Mason was just on the other side, and she wasn't sure if she should let him in. If there was anyone she didn't want seeing her like this, it was Mason. He wasn't allowed to know how weak he had made her. He would probably just make fun of her for it anyway.
Then again, maybe she should let him in. Give him a piece of her mind. Let him know he wasn't going to get off so easy this time, wasn't allowed to hurt her again and go back to his old ways so easily. When they had first broken up he had wasted no time getting back on the scene. It wasn't fair. She shouldn't have to see that. Sure, she had been half of their breakup. But it wasn't something they could've worked past anyway. Vienna wanted to be the only one. Mason didn't know how to pass by an opportunity to hook up with a random girl, and always seemed so unapologetic about it when his girlfriend found out. Maybe he just wasn't suited to relationships. Maybe she wasn't suited to them either.
Maybe she was doomed to die an old maid.
Well, probably not. But she probably wouldn't be happy.
Vienna always seemed to be getting in the way of her own happiness.
Suddenly, she realized she was at the door, her hand poised over the knob. She hadn't been aware of moving, but apparently the choice was made for her. She whipped it open, but at the sight of him standing there, she lost all will to speak. Finally she managed a word. "What?" It was intended to be sharp and angry, but somehow her voice wouldn't come out above a croak. It sounded foreign and sad. So unlike the voice she had thought she had. "Mason, what do you want?"
