Reasoning Behind Word Count: 1) First and foremost, Central is about writing, whether this means improving your writing or developing plot ideas. Central is a place where you can share your passion for writing with others. By having a word count, this encourages members to go above and beyond, forcing them to improve their writing skills. This word count is to help the members and staff continuously develop their writing styles. 2) Central originally started without a word count, however, a mutual agreement was made between the staff and members that a word count would be enforced so that all members would write in the same range as their rp partners. 3) The word count is not meant to scare potential members away or those just beginning their roleplaying journey- all you need to be accepted to Central is sufficient writing and grammar knowledge.
General out of character rules
1] You must respect all members of Central High School RPG. I am not saying you have to love everyone. I am saying that you should keep those thoughts to yourself. Leave all the drama in character.
2] Whatever an admin says, goes. They won’t punish you for something that is not in the rules.
3] Chat speak is for instant messaging. Not an RPG board. So please, keep it where it belongs. (If you are unsure of what chat speak is it is typing out ‘u’ instead of ‘you’. Generally it is abbreviating words with numbers or letter or other things. Please be grammatically correct.)
4] Each board is there for a specific reason. We don’t need a random thread in the applications board. That board if for applications only.
5] You are not to RPG with anyone until you are accepted. You are to stay in the general out of character sections of this board.
6] This board is rated PG-13. That means that swearing, sex, drugs and violence in posts are not permitted. If you are likely not to be allowed on this board because of your age, or disagree with this rule, please don’t join.
7] Racism and pornography are both not allowed on Proboards, as well as this website. Please keep that away for this RPG board. There will be no warning for this. You will automatically be banned, no excuses. Also, do not criticize ones beliefs.
8] Eight characters per member, one character per account is the limit. Want to make a ninth character? Please ask an admin for permission.
9] Stay active! If you are gone for over a month without stating your absence in the leave of absence board, your account will be deleted. We understand if you are having computer difficulties. That is why we give you a month. By then you should be able to get to another computer, or have your computer fixed.
10] Try to keep your signatures at a reasonable size. There is no set measurement, but if we feel if is too large, we will send you a notice to resize it.
11] All characters must have a picture. But no two characters are allowed to have the same picture (with the exception of some twin characters).
12] Don’t be intimidated by the people on this board. It may seem that everyone seems to know everybody else, but you have to remember it took us some time to get to that point. Everyone is friendly, so don’t be afraid to jump in on a conversation. We will not under any circumstances criticize you.
13] No spamming, unless it is in a designated spam board.
14] Advertising on Central other than the designated area is strictly prohibited. This includes in the random board, other boards besides advertising, and pm. It is also prohibited to advertise to members of Central for the purpose of taking members away from Central. Please be respectful by using the advertising board and letting the members decide by themselves if they want to join a site or not.
15] We have the right to release your pb to another member if the account or member has been inactive for one month or more.
16] Generally, DON’T BE A DUMBASS. It’s pretty simple. Follow the rules and nothing bad will happen. It is a given to be polite and to respect one another. So don’t be stupid and there will be no problems.
General in character rules
1] No one line posts. ALL POSTS MUST BE AT LEAST 400 WORDS. If you need help, there is a role-playing help board. It would be unfair for some of the more experienced role-players to have to respond to 200 words when they are putting out about 1000 words worth.
2] This RPG is in third person. That means your character should be referred to by ‘she’, ‘he’ or their name. Not ‘I’. That is first person.
3] No godmodding. Godmodding is controlling another person’s character in a post. An example would be saying: “David hit John. John immediately fell to the floor.” You cannot decide if John falls or not, that is the person who play’s John’s character’s choice. You also do not know what another character is thinking unless they tell you or you figure it out from body language (aka, your character would be guessing)
4] Adult material is prohibited on Proboards.
5] If you need a post moved to password protected please contact an Admin.
6] Be grammatically correct. If you have trouble with spelling, there is a spell check installed on Proboards. Use it, that’s what it’s there for.
7] Please use correct capitalization and punctuation in all in character posts.
