Looks and beauty don't matter. It's all about personality, right? Hah, yeah right. That might have been a true statement back in time, but these days, it's not exactly the truth. Especially if you're living in very populated cities and/or Valkyrie. But why does it matter so much? Well, the way you dress or look always gets judged by people. Everyone has seen someone try to have a good impression. You don't want people to think, "Ew. Look at her. I'm so not going to hang out with her." Nobody wants that. People want to heart another people whispering behind their backs, "Oh my gosh! Her clothes are like, so cute! We should totally get to know her!" Yes, that sounds much better, now doesn't it?Personality:
Unfortunately for some people, no matter what they wear or do to themselves, they still get those bad judgements. Then again, everyone gets bad judgements. Your new Jimmy Choos may be just adorable to those popular girls over there, but to that kid in the corner, it's just hideous. Not everyone likes the same thing so in other words, everyone gets bad judgements. If you try to look nice to that kid in the corner, it wouldn't change that because now the popular girls won't even look your way. So how exactly do you choose who you want to impress? Well, it's all up to you. Look down at what you're wearing and ask yourself, "Do I like it?" And if not, "Whose attention am I trying to get? Are they worth dressing like this?"
Most of the time, the answer is no, but some people in this world clearly know that but the just yearn for attention But sometimes the answer may be negative but it may lead to good things. You're probably thinking to yourself right now, "What the hell is she talking about?!" Well, in high school there are many cliques. Then they're these wanderers, floaters, loners, or whatever you want to call them. These wanderers [i'll just stick with that] sometimes don't know what clique they belong it. So, when they dress a way they don't like, it may bring them some friends. And maybe, if the wanderers are lucky, they might actually find true friends.
It's just a fact that you have to deal with. No matter where you go or live, people will always judge you. That is unless you're stuck or alone at a place where people can't see you. But really, who wants to be stuck in one place for the rest of their lives? Most people would do the smart thing and just deal with all this judging because there has to be someone around here that likes you. It might not be someone you suspect, but it's not like you could read minds. This isn't Heroes or some Justice League show. As much as you don't want to believe it, this is reality. None of that can happen unless aliens come and give people powers or some virus that lets you read mind is really contagious.
But that's not likely, not is it? I'm not saying that there is no chance of it happening, but -Anything's possible, but not all are probable. Nobody knows what aliens from another planet could do. It's not like anyone knows if there are even aliens. So how can we know what they can or can't do if we're not even sure if they exist? We can't. So as much as some people won't even hear of this nonsense, we should all keep our mind wide opened. Now you're thinking, "Getting off track. What does this all have to do with appearance?" Well did you hear the thing I said not to long ago? Yes, "...we should all keep our mind wide opened." So why judge people by their appearance? Well, it's just like a instinct. You just do it without noticing.
Even some of the kind and sweet people you know do it. Like Amber Malinda. Yes, she's nice and whatnot but even she judges it. Her judgements may not be as harsh as others, but it varies. Amber may even judge herself which isn't a surprise because other people do that to. Sometimes it's just a little thing like, "That doesn't look to nice with this. I should change it." or it might be big like, "Oh my gosh! What in the world did I wear these things together? Ugh!" It half depends on what kind of mood someone is in, but another time it's just what you really think to yourself. Once again, when you think all these things to yourself, it's not as bad as when someone else judges you. And that's why you should at least attempt to dress nice.
Everyone has at least one time in their lives when they try to look nice. Amber doesn't go all out with the designer jeans and millions of dollar jewelry, but that doesn't mean she never does it. Just count out the millions of dollar jewelry because Amber doesn't exactly have millions of dollars. Her parents might have a big number of money but they're gone so much that Amber would have to save until they came back and just gave her more money. The things Amber wears varies. Some days she'll dress just casual and sometimes she'll wear all the expensive clothing. There are days when she'll get ready to go somewhere quickly, and other days where she'll take forever to finish. It's usually worth it in the end...but sometimes not. Fashion is something she loves for sure though - she just doesn't have as much money since her parents don't even know she's in California when she's suppose to be in New York.
It's kind of like her hair. Amber doesn't change her hair as much as her clothes, but she does change it every now and then. Not the color, no that's definitely natural. Her hair has always been dark brown and pretty wavy but sometimes she'll change it up. The styles of her hair ranges from leaving it down or a simple ponytail to some complicated, but cute styles. She may make it a little more curlier or make it straighter than it really is. One thing is for sure - her hair is always air dried. Not that there's anything wrong with blow drying, she just dislikes it and that might explain why her hair isn't as dry as someone else who never air dries. She'll wear hair accessories such as clips every now and then and maybe she'll throw in a cute hat. It really just depends on her mood.
Amber is pretty much average height, standing at 5'5. She used to be the short girl in school. It lasted until around seventh or eighth grade and that's kind of where she started getting really tall. Soon enough Amber had grown to 5'5 and even though it's not supermodel height, she's still taller than she was before and maybe she'll keep on growing. Amber weighs about 114 pounds which is good because it's the average weight for a girl her height. Some of it is muscles and some is just her body. Amber tries to stay healthy and exercises quite a lot so that's kind of how her body is the way it is. Just like anyone else, there are those days where she'll just eat junk food but it never usually lasts for long. Amber just loves the feeling when she exercises. It makes her feel good. There is the pain she feels sometimes the next day, but Amber gets over it quickly.
The girl's eye are a dark brown color like her hair. Amber's eyes had never been something big to her. It's just been like something on her face that she has never cared much about. There isn't anything special about Amber's lips neither. They're just a pinkish color and the size is pretty much average too. Amber's skin is a light color and so, it's pretty easy to see her blush. Not like she does that a lot, but still a girl has to blush every now and then but most of the time, her face doesn't get rose-red. Amber's ears are pierced and she wears earrings every now and then. Like any other girl, Amber wears make-up. She usually uses natural colors more than the nice blue, green, or pink ones. It doesn't mean that she never wears it, just not a lot.
So, we just had the little thing about looks meaning a lot to people. If you don't want to call it a 'thing' just change it to discussion, explanation, or anything else that sounds better to you. It's not like it really matters or like it effects anything at all, but some people are just a bit picky. Okay, maybe not a bit. Some people are very picky, so I'm just going to try to satisfied their needs. Aren't I the best? Don't answer that because you might still be too picky and not like the fact that I let you choose what to change that one word into. Ugh, some people can be so annoying but this is life and nobody in this world is as perfect as they/you want them to be.History:
Enough about being picky. But still know that many people are. Like mentioned before, appearance is a big thing these days. That's how people first decide if they want to meet you or if they want to ignore you and just move on with their lives. Usually there is at least one person that doesn't care about appearance but there's not exactly a lot of that species. Most of them have changed because of the people they hang out with. Then when they change, the people that hang out around them change to. The line continues and it goes on and on until mostly everyone changes and thinks that appearance is the most important thing to anyone and everyone.
That fact isn't exactly true at all. It might be to most people but most means that it's more than fifty percent of people that think that. There are still some people in this world that don't give a damn about appearance. Sure, if you want a boyfriend and girlfriend, a cute one is always cute, right? Yup, that's the truth. Even though some people are desperate for a significant other so it doesn't really matter to them but secretly, people want a cute or hot one. It's usually a big deal to some people but that doesn't mean it's good. Some girls will date some guy just because he's cute, but the guy may be dumber than toothpick. It could be the other way around too.
So now you're most likely thinking, "What the hell do those want if they don't care about appearance?" Unlike some of the conceited/confident people in this world, some people care more than just about what some people look like. Why do you think some of the weirdest people still get married or how very nerdy students get a boyfriend or girlfriend? Well, the people those other people have are usually ones that care more than appearance. But still, you're a little confused. [Psst...You really need to get out more..At least watch some movies that have a plot that includes two really different people getting together.] So guess what it is? Okay, don't ask, because I'll just tell you. Drumroll, please!
Isn't the suspense killing you? I'll let you wait a few seconds just so you'll want to know more. Then again, you might get bored and leave, so here it is. Personality! Yes, believe it or not, personality matters to some people more than appearance. Why do you think that some nerds go out with some really popular students? Well, that's because both don't care about appearance. Sure, when you think of nerds you think of very geeky kids with horrible clothing or....Wilbert Summitt. But ever thought what they might be like on the inside? Okay, Wilbert may be a little perverty so we should probably count him out for personality, but he's not that bad. Anyways, personality matters a lot to some people, including Amber Malinda.
Yes, Amber Malinda. She cares about personality...just not as much. A cute guy wouldn't hurt but personality is good for her too. Amber doesn't have any specific type of guy that she likes. They might be a different kind of person but who knows what they're like on the inside. Sure, she wouldn't exactly approach someone would bright blue hair and dresses weird [*cough*first impressions*cough*] but that doesn't mean that it's completely impossible for Amber to meet a guy like that. She usually likes guys who can make her laugh and maybe a little romantic thing here and there. The girl loves to be complimented and charming guys, but then again, what female doesn't want some boy like that?
Well, Amber isn't one of those girls. She actually likes guys like that. It's not a surprise that Amber likes someone that can make her laugh. She's pretty silly and goofy herself and jokes around a lot. There's not usually a dull moment with her around. Even when this girl is instant messaging [which she only does when she has nothing else to do] she usually isn't bored. Sure, everyone in this world has moments where they feel bored. It might be just for one or two seconds but it's still a moment. Amber is just the kind of girl that you love being around and hanging out with. She knows how to have fun and takes risks. Sure, that can lead to trouble sometimes but life isn't fun without some risks here and there.
Although Amber likes to have fun and is pretty kind, she can still stand up for herself. She won't just stand there and do nothing if you tear her apart. Okay, maybe she might if you catch her offguard or hit a weak spot. But nobody knows Amber's weakspot, and honestly, she doesn't really know herself. Usually she finds out if someone actually says something about it without thinking, and it hurts more than intended. And that's how Amber finds out what really hurts her more than others. The only problem is, nobody has really found that weakspot. Amber certainly has some enemies here and there but none of them have really touched a nerve, I guess maybe she'll figure out what that weakness is. It is Valkyrie.
Yup, it's Valkyrie. Where all the drama and horrible things happen. Of course Amber doesn't know what's coming. She just thinks that Valkyrie is just some town where her cousins lives and that's why she's going to go. Oh, if the only girl only knew how bad it was, but Amber thinks that there isn't a place that is worse than living with her aunt in New York. What a witch! Anyways, Amber knows how to deal with it. Living with her aunt in New York had taught her a lot. Amber had learned how to forgive people [sometimes the length it takes may be different], as hard as it may be. She has also learned how to be positive, but there are times where Amber feels like there is nothing to be positive about. But everyone is like that every now and then, right?
Amber is also athletic. She used to be a complete tomboy back then, hating dresses and wanting to vomit when she had to wear something too girlie, but she got used to it. Amber still plays various sports though. She loves playing many sports and is good at many of it too. Sure, the girl isn't captain of every sports team made and she isn't like the most awesome player, but Amber is kind of in the middle for several sports. Amber is really good at soccer since it's one of her favorite sports. She enjoys playing other sports and trying new ones but soccer is still at the top of her list. She can be a little competitive at times, but in the end, she'll realize that it's just a game. But winning is still always fun, right?
Now for the part of her that is most obvious. Amber is pretty much a rebel, tired of listening to rules. Especially after her aunt bossed her around too much back in New York. Just because she was rich didn't mean she could treat Amber like Cinderella, yet she still did and ever since she came to California, Amber didn't want to have to deal with that again. She'll certainly listen to people every now and then and as long as she doesn't get in too much trouble, she'll do something. Honestly, she isn't a complete troublemaker, but she isn't a complete goodie-two shoes either. She's trying to be more confident these days and stand up for herself, but she's still got some stuff to work on.

Well, one thing was certainly sure, it wasn't love at first sight. Nobody had expected it to happen - absolutely nobody. It was just too awkward, to weird, and totally unexpected. It went against the laws of high school and although there is an endless amount of teenagers that just adore breaking rules, nobody really wanted to break this one. There was no real punishment from adults or anything like that. You wouldn't go to jail, but some kids might have made your life hell. Well, not really. Only if they were pretty popular, a bitch, or just a jerk, but either way there was a possibility that your life would have been hell. That is, unless you were one of those popular people.Sample Rp:
Anyways, this rule was never really spoken of. It didn't need to be because that was simply just how the way things were. It was one of those high school things where you know that it's not suppose to be done even if it can be. And trust me, anyone could have done it but nobody had the nerve. There were those shy girls and boys that didn't take any risks because they were just so good. They never wanted to get in trouble, but this wasn't really too much trouble. It was just the nerve they were lacking. Then you can just skip over the average people because they couldn't do it easier. Then there were the means students in high school that had lots of confidence and can easily forget something or tear you to shreds.
Not even those students had the nerve, and that was saying a lot. Some had more nerve than you expected, but they still wouldn't do it. If they did, it would just be too weird. It was like seeing an elephant give birth to a tiger - It wasn't meant to be. Or like seeing a bear walking down the street wearing a karate outfit with a tutu around it. You don't even see people wearing that everyday so obviously, it would be just plain out awkward for a bear to. So, just think about that for a few minutes - just imagine what it would feel like if you looked out the window right this second and saw something like that happening. It would just be awkward and you would probably think that it was a dream, right?
Okay, I think you can figure out how weird it was. It might have normal for some people and high schools to this day. But come on, this was a while ago, and students in high school today didn't know what the students in high school a while ago had to deal with. Sure, they had some easier things to do than today but not all things were simple. Only some, but not all. People would expect that their parents went through school with easy grades and no drama in their lives. Hah, yeah right. Haven't you watched Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, or Gossip Girl? Look at those adults. Their problems were similar to the kind they had today - some worse but some easier to deal with than the ones teenagers have today.
Tera Hilton. No, she wasn't related to Paris Hilton or any of that rich girl's relatives, but Tera was much like her. Tera was very rich since her father was a lawyer and her mother was a doctor. As much as they worked, her parents still made time to spend time with Tera. And when they would miss some time or something, they would simply feel bad and give the girl some money. As Tera grew up, her parents got promoted and more busy so she got more money to spend. Money was no big deal for Tera. She never worried about expences, and knew that she would soon have to work for her things since her parents wouldn't be in school forever. And that's why Tera was at the top of her class along with being one of the richest, bitchiest, and popular girl in school.
Martin Malinda. He was..Erm, different. The boy was simply a nerd that loved Spiderman, Superman, and all the superheroes you could possibly named. He collected a bunch of superheroes things and he wasn't exactly very known. The boy had been in New York all his life, yet nobody ever noticed him, and in elementary school, he was shy and was easily forgotten. Martin was very nerdy and he was intelligent in school. The only time he was really noticed was when he did something embarrassing or when the more popular students in the class where beating him up, tearing him to shreds, or just making fun of him. He didn't get his first kiss until he was about seventeen and although Martin was a little cute, his geekiness covered it all.
So how did it happen? Well, I could say that it started with detention but it didn't. That was just kind of when they first saw each other, but Tera was still too bored to care that Martin and her were the only kids in detention that day. Martin had went in detention for correcting the teacher, and although he was right, she didn't like it. Tera was in detention for passing notes, which she also though was stupid because the person that firs gave her the note was let free. It figures, considering how that girl that she was talking to made some excuse and there was no way Tera could say she was lying. After all, that girl was just a sweetheart to adults but a complete bitch in reality. And that bitch was Tera's friend. They still stayed friends, because you know how those kinds of things don't really matter too much.
The time Martin and Tera really met was for a class project. Tera wanted to kill herself since she was paired with some guy she didn't even remember from the detention a week ago. Even though she didn't remember him, one look at Martin and you could already tell the kind of guy he was. Since the project lasted longer than others, Tera actually started to like Martin [and the other way around] but she wouldn't let him or anyone else know that. But one day, he asked her out and she agreed [acting like it was just some random thing] but when her friends saw her with him, Tera just said that they were working on the project. Martin was okay with that, because that was just how high school worked.
Soon enough, the two started dating more and more. Some people have seen even though they had kept it a secret, but nobody believed them. Everybody heard the rumors that was true, but nobody believed the people who saw - and even those people admitted that they most likely saw wrong. It just wouldn't be right if the two were dating. Just not right. Somehow, word got out but things were fine. Surprising at first, but everybody knew that if they dare insulted Tera to her face, they would have to pay later. As time passed, people got used to Tera and Martin. Tera even got slightly nicer while Martin learned to be a little more outgoing and he even started to seem a little cuter to some other girls. But sorry, he's taken.
High school came to an end, but their relationship never did. Tera and Martin went to the same college and still remained together. They learned to accept each other for their flaws and other things and were one of the most trustworthy couples. Before they knew it, Martin was proposing to Tera and of course she just had to say yes. Although nobody had thought that it would ever happen, this relationship turned out better than anyone would expect. The wedding came and Tera and Martin got married. It was such a happy family and a few months later, there was going to be another addition to the Malinda family [like it wasn't big enough]. Amber Malinda was borned in Manhattan, New York.
It was such a wonderful day when that little baby was borned. It was one of the best days in Tera and Martin's life. Did I mention they were twins? Yes, twins. Not only was Amber born, but Olivia too. But there was a big problem a few days after Amber was born. Sure, Martin and Tera were one of the happiest married couples ever, but they soon became one of the saddest ones. Olivia or Amber wasn't kidnapped or anything, but Tera and Martin had a son - Seth Malinda. Okay, that was a happy moment too, but things were getting too complicated. The family was getting busier and busier since Martin and Tera opened up a very successful company and they were constantly on business trips and not having time to spend with their children.
Amber, Olivia, and Seth were still little kids and they were too much work for the couple. They made a big decision and let Olivia be with one of her aunts. They didn't feel like Olivia would be ever too far from them and they could still love her a lot. Olivia would still be in their lives but they had thought wrong. Why hadn't they known earlier? That aunt was such a bitch that she wouldn't want to be with some baby. She gave the kid to someone. Or did she? She never told what happened but Olivia was either in some foster home or someone else's home. They couldn't find her because apparently, the aunt figured out what she had done. She changed her name and moved somewhere they nobody knows.
Martin and Tera were devestated and although they wanted to spend a lot of time with their children [just to appreciate that they were even here] they couldn't. The company was too big and if they closed it down, then the family would just spend time looking for jobs and whatnot. They all had their own home and lived together. Amber and Seth had butlers and nannies to take care of them when their parents were gone, but Martin and Tera got busier. Soon enough, they weren't feeling too safe with the people they left their child in. The butlers and nannies had seemed like family but if Martin and Tera couldn't even trust one of their own relatives, how could they trust the people in their homes?
So, when on business trips [and usually they were], Amber and Seth were left with their aunt, which wasn't the best lady. She was another aunt, whom actually acted nice unlike the other. Yes, acted. Not like she actually with. She made their lives miserable. Okay, not lives, more like just Amber. She hated Amber but adored Seth since Seth was so shy with no backbone - he listened to everything she did when Amber would disagree and stand up for herself. And that's why Amber lived in the basement. Her parents never came to the house, so they didn't know and Amber was too scared to say anything. She was such a little girl and grew up in her aunt's home more than her real home with her parents.
Her life was so miserable, but Amber managed to have such a happy life. She always stayed positive and as she grew older, Amber made tons of friends. Everybody loved being around her because she knew how to have fun. Amber was such a fun girl that nobody would expect her life to be the way it was. She kept it a secret. Amber would throw birthday parties at different places and would use the money she earned herself to get stuff. Amber learned the value of money and sometimes Seth would give her some money. Her aunt was very rich but only gave Seth money and not Amber. Amber was left with all the chores and her aunt would find any excuse to either insult or make Amber's life miserable.
Things were simple at school. Amber had good grades along with playing many sports such as soccer. At home, however...Well, things were hard in the beginning, but it seemed to get more difficult as Amber grew up. Her aunt seemed to get more horrible. Usually, Amber was the kind of girl to stand up for herself but for some reason she couldn't say anything to or about her aunt. Maybe it was because that was the only place Amber could go to and if she said anything, she would be living in the streets. So, without saying anything, Amber started saving up her money. She looked up online for any kind of Malinda that might be related to her. It was all her. She didn't have anyone's help and soon, Amber found a website.
It was about some girl named Samantha Malinda. She had won some competition [she seemed pretty intelligent] and she was related to many other Malindas. Amber had found her family. Well, her other relatives since her aunt was her family too. Amber kept on saving up her money, using it only for several things here and there. Soon enough, Amber had enough money and she decided that she was going to move to Valkyrie. Not move, but more like runaway to. The girl had so many memories in New York, like her first kiss, boyfriend, and whatnot. Amber hadn't been to heartbroken when she had gotten her first boyfriend since he started treating her like dirt and she just didn't want that kind of guy.
Anyways, only giving some of her closest friends contact information [the ones she knew she could trust to keep a secret]. Soon enough, Amber had enough money. When nobody else was home, Amber quickly packed her things [not many], and she caught her flight to Valkyrie. She didn't tell her brother until after she was there, and knowing the kind of guy he was, Amber knew that he wouldn't tell. She was ready to go to Valkyrie, knowing that things would be awesome here. To get in, she had gotten a scholarship not too long before. Amber couldn't wait for a new start and after she gotten a little settled into Valkyrie, she looked for her family. She met her cousins, Nikki, Natalie, Brianna, Samantha, Aaron, and some others.
This was Valkyrie, and it possibly couldn't be as bad as her life in New York, right? It had to be much better than living in the basement considering how Amber was going to be in the dorms. Brianna had told Amber that there was a room opened in the Valks for her, but she didn't want to accept it. She'll start Valkyrie slowly. Maybe a little later she'll be in the Valks, that was what she was thinking, until her uncle didn't want her to stay in the dorms when they had tons of rooms available at their own home. She had dealt with some drama at home and didn't except Valkyrie to be that bad. None of it was as bad as what she had dealt with, but Amber didn't know that. That was the only reason why Amber wanted to go to Valkyrie. If the girl only knew what kind of things happened in this town. She has to find out eventually, right? Oh, and by the way, she still doesn't know about her twin.
The streamers were posing a problem. Desi had spent forever carefully searching for the right shades and coordinating them the rest of the living room's main colors. She had gotten in A+ in that part of the project. But she hadn't realized the ceiling was so high. Even with a chair, Desi's vertically challenged-ness prevented her from being able to actually hang the streamers. She was sure there was a ladder in the shed, but her dad kept that locked up and hid the key. She was pretty much stuck.Celeb:
Desi sighed and looked down at the beautiful streamers in her hands that she had so carefully picked out, hoping her father's eyes wouldn't be too cloudy with alcohol to notice how she had specially picked out his favorite colors. She had to get these damn things up. Maybe finally he'd notice that she didn't hate him, even though he had given up on her. Maybe he'd finally decided he liked his daughter better than booze.
Once again, Desi pulled a chair against the wall and climbed atop it. She jumped up and slapped the stucco wall, just inches below the ceiling. Dammit. The streamer would look retarted hanging just on the walls. And she couldn't take any more of her Dad thinking her retarded. But she'd never be able to read the ceiling, so she leapt down from that chair to grab the masking tape. She spent the next half hour carefully arranging them on the beige stucco until the room looked ready for a small, mediocre, forty-eighth birthday party. The banner she had painted with bright red and blue paint shouted 'Happy Birthday, Dad!' even in the dimming light. The present she had purchased was wrapped in blinding silver wrapping paper, sitting on the coffee table. All was ready.
Desi had specifically told her father when he left to be back by seven. The clock on the wall now read six forty-five. All she needed to do was click off the lights and wait until the door opened and shout 'surprise!' In Desi's mind it was a peace offering, a sign she hadn't given up, that the countless arguments and insults could be forgiven, if he was willing. In her mind it was an act that would make everything okay. If only her father could learn that she still yearned like a child for his approval. After this, everything would surely be okay.
The clock ticked away solemnly to seven fifteen and Desi decided it must be a few minutes fast. Then its hands meandered over to seven thirty and Desi decided her dad was running a little late. He had seen how important it was that he be back. He could've been able to tell by the look on her face. Surely he was stuck in traffic or something. Desi sat on the pretty much busted couch and watched as her shadow disappeared around the time the clock announced eight. She sat alone in the dark, waiting. He'd be back soon. He had to. It was when nine o'clock came around that Desi couldn't stand being inside anymore. She took a look around the room, a room waiting for a memory, a celebration that'd never happen, a bondage that was impossible to make. Desi slipped out the door and walked across the dying grass to the curb. The stars shone like diamond on the velvet pillow humans called the sky. For some reason, it was not her father's broken promise that brought tears to her emerald eyes. It was the image of the stars that caused the tears to plink onto the the road as she sat with her elbows on her knees, knowing officially now that her father truly had given up.
