Appearence:
Eli inherited his blue eyes from his mother. It's the one trait he received from her and he uses it to his advantage a lot. He tries to use everything he has to be charming and most of the time it works out. Moving on from his eyes, he has an average size nose and mouth. To be honest who really thinks about lips unless they're kissing them and by then they're thinking about something completely different. Anyway, Eli has a strong square jaw that is usually covered in facial hair of some kind. It comes from him being too lazy to shave, so either a full-fledged beard or stubble is present on his face most of the time.Personality:
His sandy blonde hair varies quite a lot, but it typically stays short. When it's very short, obviously it's pretty straight. However, when it's a little longer it always has a natural curl to it. It's never overly curly, but more of a wind-swept messy curly style. It's never been longer than having the natural curl, which is probably a good thing. Eli doesn't do hardly anything to it right now so if there was any more it'd look very unkempt all the time.
Eli stands at an average height of 6'0". He doesn't completely tower over anyone, but he isn't shorter than most people either. It's a good thing to be in the middle or average, you don't stand out or cause a situation. Along with his average stature, Eli has a muscular body. This is due to years and years of his father pressuring him to be a part of sports teams, which in the end he didn't mind too much. Because he has to get a scholarship to go to college, he keeps up a workout routine to maintain his body for sports. Doesn't hurt with the girls either.
You'll always find Eli in something comfortable. There are a few situations where he'll have to dress up in a suit, but he doesn't mind it too much. Jeans are the most common feature in his wardrobe. That and t-shirts. Probably the only reason why he has more variety than t-shirts and plaid button ups is he can get free clothes from when he models them. Hey, it's one less thing he has to use his money for. When he's on stage or writing, typically he'll wear a wife-beater; it's all in an effort to stay comfortable and inspired.
Eli was raised to be a polite and upstanding citizen of society, thanks to his grandmother. Of course he kept this trait, being very respectful of everyone...most of the time. He does have a certain jerk side that can become evident if the situation calls for it. You could probably call him a generally nice guy, but that statement might bite you in the ass when he feels threatened.History:
Along with the respectful side of him, comes the protective side. Eli is very protective of the people he cares about. Having a short temper doesn't always help this out. Unfortunately he inherited that from his father. He's most protective of his friends. He's very afraid of making his father upset. However, it's the constant fear that pushes him to make sure that nothing bad will happen to them.
Now to talk about girls. He was raised to respect women and treat them well. Being somewhat shy, sometimes it's difficult for him to be himself around girls, but he eventually warms up to people. He likes being around people and of course girls are definitely favored. He's not very into one-night stands or friends with benefits, being pretty old-fashioned. Eli hasn't been in many relationships, but he's pretty open to one whenever the situation comes up.
Being an athlete he obviously has a lot of confidence. The strange thing about it is that more often than not it'll only show up when he's at a game. He's been working on that for a long time and now there are some moments when he'll show an arrogant side of him to some people, of course again depending on the situation. Who wouldn't want to be a nice charming guy in front of girls? Exactly why this part is hidden most of the time.
Of course contrasting with this confidence is the vulnerability. A big part of that is the fact that Eli feels like he'll never be good enough for his father. That is unless he went to law school and played college football. Every time he steps out on onto the field, he's able to be someone different than himself. It takes a while, but he warms up to playing eventually. Then you won't find a happier person anywhere.
Born May 25, 1992 to Edward and Susan Kennedy, joining his older brother of two years. His life started out rough and rocky, with his mother dying while giving birth to him. That left behind him, his father, and his older brother Andrew. His father never really got over her death and constantly blamed Eli for causing it. As you can imagine that made growing up in his household very difficult. He got by as best he could typically playing outside with his friends and brother, avoiding his father as much as possible. His maternal grandmother was his one saving grace. While his father showered Andrew with affection and opportunities, his grandmother was right there giving Eli the same love.Sample Rp:
Eli grew up in a typical household, Edward being a mechanic with his own popular shop in downtown San Francisco. He was a somewhat popular kid, having some really good friends at school. The only person who didn't seem swayed was his father. Andrew succeeded academically and received their father's praise and attention. Eli never really had the same head for school that his brother did, so he found other ways to excel. Sports were an outlet for his aggression and it also brought him the attention he craved from his father. Edward pushed Eli to succeed in sports like he did, and if he didn't do well his father would beat the loser out of him. I'm sure that got out Edward's own aggression about everything as well.
Because his father was constantly trying to forget his mother, the family moved around quite a bit. They usually stayed in California, though there was one time they moved as far as Alabama. It started when Eli was nine and each time it was caused by the end of one of his father's relationships. In each new city his father would get a job as a mechanic or something he could do and Eli would join the sports teams to try and fit in in school. They eventually moved to Seattle at the beginning of his freshman year of high school. His father finally remarried and they had a somewhat stable family once again. The beatings even seemed to stop when Eli would do something to anger his father. He thrived in his new environment. He started making real, lasting friends and even started dating. That's when he met Daphne and she changed his world.
Eli fell hard and fast. She showed him he didn't need to be afraid of anyone, anything, or to be himself. He knew he still had to be careful around his father so he never introduced Daphne to his father or new family. Things stayed normal enough all through the first three years of high school. During his senior year, his father got divorced from his step-mother and things kind of went to hell. In the span of about two days everything he knew changed. His father got very drunk and started beating him again. The next day, all of their stuff was packed up and ready to move to Los Angeles. Eli had no choice but to say goodbye to Daphne. He left her sitting in their booth in their diner, seeing her for the last time. He knew moving to L.A. would be a drastic change from anything he'd experienced so far, living in a huge city. It'd go back to his San Franciscan roots.
The next chapter in his life is just starting. He'll do what he usually does to fit in and try to make the best of his new situation. His father is unemployed. His brother in college at UCLA. And himself, trying to graduate high school with as much ease as he could find possible.
