Let's start at the top and work our way down. Danya's hair is naturally black and grows in curls. Danya hates his curled, fast-growing hair. Usually he keeps it short and dyes portions of it, but occasionally he'll allow it to grow out, either way he makes it a point to keep it as straight as possible. Danya's hair falls to cover one of his slightly sunken, small, piercing brown eyes. Said eyes have beady chocolate irises and proportionally large black pupils, they're set an average difference apart. Danya's eyes show more emotion then any of his other features. He's not the type to cry, but he is the type to look like it. Danya's been told his eyes seem to vary slightly in color from time to time, although he personally has never noticed this. Danya's nose is thickish and of average length. It's perfectly straight. His lips are of reddish complexion, or at least they look to be. Danya has been known recently to wear a bit of make-up. In actuality they're pale pink, and when he's participating in sports, that's what one sees. Danya has very little facial hair, a dark stubble around his lips and on his chin.Personality:
Danya's body's next. He's tall, and buff, and I mean buff! He's chiseled, possessing a body that looks like it could easily have been calved from stone. His skin is fairly dark for an average Caucasian person with not tanning what-so-ever, and darker still for the average Russian. Danya's strength is apparent as you look over his broad shoulders, along his sculpted arms and down to his washboard abs. Danya's legs are built for fast, sustained running. Over all it's clear that Danya's a very powerful person, however, he does also demonstrate a slightly feminine side. He has, clean shaved arms and legs, and although they make him the object of much torment in the locker room. He's happy with the smooth, comfortable feel of them. Danya's body features several thin white scars from past incidents, mostly these scars adorn his chest, although there are a few on his lower back and his arms. Danya doesn't care, he readily shows his scars with pride.
Danya's clothing? Well. Aside from his various sports uniforms and the small items he often wears to break up the solid darkness, Danya's wardrobe is pretty much entirely black. The boy doesn't have much in the way of truly 'casual' clothing, almost all his stuff seems either unusually formal or just a bit bizarre. His actual style varies between baggy yet skin-showing button down shirts with dark black jeans to tight fitting, almost constricting tops and matching skinnies. Shoes? Danya's shoes vary heavily. Boots, both heeled and flat, sneakers all sorts of things. Danya doesn't really care what goes on his feet as long as it suits the rest of his attire.
Accessories. For Danya this refers to a wide range of things, including the single piercing resting in each of his ears, in which he usually wears odd ear rings, generally one stud and one sleeper. Danya also loves necklaces chains and even chokers and often wears two or three at a time. Danya's no stranger to arm bands, bracelets and the like. Since coming out he's acquired a wide range of jewelry, and wears it uncaring as to who might hold a negative oppinion of him.
Danya's personality can be divided up into a variety of different sections.History:
On the Surface, Danya seems to be just another emo. He mopes around a lot, he's quiet and seems to keep mostly to himself. He's the kinda guy who sits in the corner and looks out at everyone else having fun. Danya hates the fact that he feels so down most of the time, and that only makes it worse because he knows he shouldn't be the way he is, in his mind, Danya should be the way he used to be before he came out and dealt with his unacceptance. His formerly vibrant, happy self, the one from before the fear and nervousness.
On the football field, the track or in the wrestling ring, Danya's that guy again. He's aggressive, driven, fun and motivated. It's like all the inner happiness that Danya still holds bubbles out of him in the form of energy, and physical assertiveness. Danya really comes out of his shell on the field, revealing his leadership qualities and his now-dormant impulsive nature. Danya's drive on the field is a strong one. He loves the challenge of silencing the opinions of those misguided people who believe a gay boy can't be strong, athletic or powerful. Danya wants to prove, in his own words that 'fags can fight'. On the field, Danya couldn't care less what his team mates think, provided they're willing to give him a fair chance, something he's perfectly willing to earn the hard way, and something he has earned over, and over, and over again.
Danya below the surface, is the kind of guy you just can't hold down. He gets upset, and hurt, very upset, and very hurt, but he never lets those feelings truly hold him back. He keeps trying to make the best of life, even in his depressed, miserable state he'll try anything, if for no reason other than to distract himself from his misery and to retain some kind of vague sense of normality. Danya fails to see why he should give anyone the satisfaction of preventing him from enjoying the things he loves, yes it's hard for him but he just can't let himself be denied or held down.
Danya and his friends. It all depends on the particular person with Danya. Chances are he'll be a little more happy with his friends then he is if he's alone or meeting people, but he'll still show very little energy or motivation. Danya's the kind of guy who'll come through for a friend no matter what, he's always just a phone call away for a good friend, and no matter what's going on in his life he'll give his all to helping a friend in need. Danya doesn't have many friends and he cherishes the ones he does have. They get away with murder when it comes to Danya. They can blow him off, manipulate him, and treat him like crap. As long as they really do care about him it's okay. As much as Danya looks for friends who'll be there for him in tough times, he'll accept anyone who'll accept him. He needs all the friends he can get and he knows it. Desperate? Hardly. In need of acceptance is a better choice of words.
Danya with a lover? Well. When the Russian finds a guy he likes it brings him right out of his depression as long as they're with him or when he's thinking about them. He's energetic, romantic, flirtatious and vibrant. He's impulsive as can be with a lover, There's a decent chance that he'll pick a boy up for a date with no idea where they're going when they'll be back, or what they'll do. Danya's caring, compassionate and loyal, although he's easily lead astray, should he run into another boy he's interested in, then he'll start something up. Yes, he'll feel bad about it, but he'll do things in the spur of the moment. After he has done something, he'll be honest, then apologize profusely, showering his spurned boyfriend with all the love and affection he always would and ten times more. One of Danya's worst qualities is that he's clingy. He needs his boyfriend to be there for him, he needs love and attention and affection. He needs to feel accepted like he never is by others. If his boyfriend can't be there for him in a trying time, why should the relationship continue? After all, despite the depressive state of Danya's mind he'll always be there, it's only fair for him to expect the same from them, right?
How does Danya cope in the long run? Not very well. Everything leaves a lasting effect on Danya and his emotions scar easily. If a person upsets Danya, he's likely to never quite look at them in the same light again, he'll forgive them, and he'll move on with them, but in his own inner self he'll continue to hold the pain inflicted by that person. Some of the most noteworthy emotional damage caused to Danya is a dreadful phobia of scissors and knives that prevents Danya from even standing near someone with a either item. While not all of Danya's issues are as drastic, it's not hard to leave a lasting negative impression on Danya's life.
Danya spent his early years living not far outside Moscow Russia on his father's villa to parents Anya and Feliks Petrov, Danya was always given the finest things in his youth. Expensive toys, gourmet food, regular vacations to the finest destinations all over Russia and beyond, everything against a healthy family life. Danya's mother stayed at home while his father traveled all around the world on business, she always seemed deeply depressed and basically withdrew from her son and left him to be raised by various nannies and other caretakers, Danya knew his mother loved him but still he felt unable to connect with her properly.Sample Rp:
Soon, Danya began his life in a Russian boarding school, a Catholic one at that. Danya felt at odds with his peers, and his teachers. He didn't identify with the religious teachings of the school, and he didn't understand the rigidly condemning nature of Russian Catholicism. To Danya nobody deserved to be treated unfairly, nobody deserved to be sent to hell, he felt out of place here, virtually alien. Soon, however, Danya began to engage himself in sport and similar athletic pursuits to draw his attention away from the disturbing and confusing views of those in his environment, Danya was an instant success in sport, and greatly enjoyed the popularity he garnered from a young age.
As Danya continued to win victory after victory after victory he grew older. When the boy was twelve, he started to garner the interest of girls with his prowess. Danya was flattered, but while his fellow athletes seized this attention, Danya did not. He wasn't interested. No. Danya 's interest was in men from day one. He was always told that homosexuality was wrong, and so he never spoke up about it. Danya even went so far as to have a few fraudulent relationships with girls in which he felt nothing simply to cover up his sexuality. These relationships always ended quickly, before anything serious could come of them.
At Fourteen, Danya was pulled out of school for a reason that his parents never specified, all Danya knew was that his father was at home, and for the first time in his life he could see the man he'd silently idolized for his fabulous wealth, and glamorous life. Finally, Danya understood why his mother was upset and withdrawn all the time. Every night, Danya would hear her screaming, he would see her bruised and battered body. She'd always say the same things. She slipped in the shower, or Danya's father had accidentally opened a door into her face. Danya was smart enough to figure out what was happening to his mother, but he chose to deny it, after all, his father was at home because he was dying of cancer. A year later, Feliks Petrov died. Danya mourned his father's passing despite the knowledge that he was a violent, abusive man, where as Anya simply accepted that he was gone and perhaps even took it as an opportunity to be free.
Not long before Danya's fifteenth birthday, he and his mother made the move to Central, and Danya was enrolled in Hillard. Danya continued his winning ways in Hillard, instantly becoming a star sportsman, and once again establishing himself as a lady's man despite his homosexuality. Danya began to resent his lies, and soon stopped dating, claiming that he wanted to 'focus on sport', and that's what Danya did. Eventually, when Hillard closed, Danya decided that things needed to change. He needed to be honest. After getting settled in at Central school, Danya came out to a few of his jock friends, who immediately shunned him. He started to grow depressed as word traveled around the school and more and more of his friends started to abandon him. To make matters worse, Danya was jumped in a back alley after that where he was the victim of a homophobic attack. He was bruised and battered, not to mention being slashed and scarred by scissors and knives, leaving Danya with his terrible phobia of such objects.
Danya began his decent into a deep depression by this point, spurned by his former friends, and longing even for the sham relationships with girls, he started to search for new friends, and eventually found the emos. People who's lives were just as terrible as his. They embraced him and he embraced them. He saw people who needed friends, people who would probably share both his needs and his willingness to provide and he was content with that. Despite Danya's new clique he continued with his sport, perhaps even impassioned, it became his escape, his freedom and his only link to his old life, and his normality.
