Tyler is a very sunshiny person on the inside and it seems to show in her appearance. Actually, her personality always seems to shine through, no matter how much she may try to hide it.

Tyler’s best feature, in her opinion, is her hair. It’s not necessarily as long as she would like, but her hair has a satisfactory thickness; just enough to hold a nice curl without being too overdone. The coloring varies depending on the light. In normal lighting it’s just a simple, very dark brown but in the sun it’s red and in dull lighting it’s almost black. She’s tried out different hair colors but prefers just to go natural out of fear of ruining it.

Beneath her hair are warm brown eyes that always seem to show her emotions and feelings. They have gold flecks that seem to reflect the warmth that comes from her personality. When she gets mad or upset about something though, the gold almost seems to fade from her eyes, leaving them a very dark storm gray or even black. Her eyes may always give away her feelings but even when she’s pissed she can still smile and seem happy.

Tyler’s facial structure doesn’t really stand out that much. She has a high forehead that seems to be common among girls these days. Her eyes are set a little farther apart than is usual and her nose is a little thinner than usual too. The lips beneath it are naturally unremarkable, but with the right lip gloss and lip liner she can usually make them stand out a little more though she’s never really happy with them. Or her neck for that matter, which in her opinion is too short. She doesn’t wear chokers for that reason, though it hasn’t stopped her from wearing any other kind of necklace. She’s been considering getting a tattoo on the back of her neck, but hasn’t since she can’t decide on the design. Her older brother, who happens to be a tattoo artist, promised he would do it for her once she’s decided.

A long torso and equally long legs make her look taller than her 5 feet, 3 inches, but she just thinks it makes her look shorter. Tyler knows she’s short, and so do all her friends. She gets teased about it quite often. She wears a lot of heels, especially stilettos and has actually become very talented at wearing stilettos and carrying heavy school books. She also wears a lot of dark colored jeans because someone once told her it made her legs look longer and therefore she looked taller.

Her skin is naturally tan due to her mild Hispanic roots. Even in the winter a little bit of sun is all she needs to bring out the color. Unfortunately for her that makes it almost impossible for her to get foundation that matches her skin tone and make up to compliment it. Because of this she has possibly the most extensive make up collection in the school. That, and she likes to attempt to look good, which is also why almost all her clothes are designers. Lately she’s been getting into the thrift store clothing style, mostly because it’s all she can afford. When her brother sends her a little extra cash, though, she splurges. She’s also a big fan of shoes and jewelry. She has more jewelry than she does make up, and more shoes than both her jewelry and make up combined. She tries to keep things varied but it’s difficult to try and look good while knowing no one’s really looking.

Personality:

Confident- Even when she was younger, Tyler was never the shy one. She was one of those kids that always seemed to be talking to a stranger no matter where she went. Even after her parents died and she started moving into foster homes she never lost that confidence. Unfortunately, it also made her talk a lot when she was a kid, but she’s since grown out of that. At least, for the most part anyway. When she gets excited about something she can get rather talkative again.

Curious- Tyler may not be on the fast track to valedictorian, but she has done pretty well for herself. She’s always been curious about the world and the life on it. Unfortunately, Tyler doesn’t have the passion for learning the way her parents expected. Not at school anyway, she’s more of a figure-it-out-herself kind of person. She has a very scientific mind, though she still makes her decisions based on emotion, rather than fact.

Happy- Tyler always seems to be in a good mood. She couldn’t hold a grudge to save her life. She forgives people too easily, actually. It’s gotten her hurt more than once in her lifetime. You could almost call it naïve; she always believes the best about people, even strangers. She grew up in a community where everyone pretty much trusted everyone else even though it was a city and it’s affected her. Only recently has Tyler begun to believe people who tell her the world is worse than she thinks.

Courageous- Never one to back down from a challenge, Tyler has done some pretty stupid- but fun- things in her life. Climbing mountains, scuba diving, bungee jumping, roller coasters, and anything else like it. She’s become quite the adrenaline junkie. Her brother has had to talk her out of some things, but it doesn’t work as often as he thinks it does. A lot of times she’ll do it anyway when he’s not around.

Spontaneous- Tyler doesn’t think about consequences as much as she should. She’s a live-in-the-moment kind of person. She’ll make decisions at the tip of her hat, and they’re not always the best decisions either. She’s learned to live with some stupid stuff. Of course she, like everyone else, has memories that make her wince just at the thought of them.

Self Conscious- Tyler is surprisingly self conscious. It’s part of the reason she spends so much time behind the camera rather than in front of it. She worries more about what people think than she lets on. She’s confidant in every other part of her personality than that, but because she is so confidant most of the time people don’t seem to notice.

Proud- Tyler is about as proud as they come. Not egotistical proud, but proud to the point that she never accepts help. You know those guys who never stop to ask for directions? Well, Tyler is one of them.

Observant- Ever since her childhood, Tyler has been good at noticing small details. She has a quick mind that can put those small things together and draw conclusions that, more often than not, are right. Because she notices the small things a lot of her pictures are zoomed in on tiny little parts of things that most people never would have noticed.

History:

Tyler was born on October 31st, 1993 in Kansas City, Missouri. The first four years of her life were calm and uneventful. The only thing worth mentioning is that she first picked up a camera on her fourth birthday and has since been in love. Her parents were actually very surprised at how good her pictures were for a four year old. And then, about 7 months after her birthday, her parents were killed in a plane crash. Needless to say, her older brother Jayson and her were crushed. Neither of them has flown since.

They didn’t have any living relatives at the time and were instead bumped into foster homes. Fortunately for them they had pretty good luck as far as families went. Sure, there were some not so nice ones in there, but compared to what some of their friends went through it was easy for them.

Elementary school was the hardest for her because so many of the things they did were student-parent oriented. She actually got teased quite a bit about being a foster kid, as did Jayson. It was about this time that he became very, very protective of his little sister. He got in a lot of fights in school with anyone who made fun of her and later on, any guy who looked at her the wrong way. Eventually most of the other kids got over teasing her, not only because her brother threatened to beat them up, but also because she has such a bubbly personality.

Middle school saw 4 boyfriends, 2 best friends, three foster homes, and two new cameras. It was about this time that she really started getting into photography. Her brother supported her as much as he could, but it’s not like it was easy for him. He was in high school at the time and already preparing to go to court to try to win custody of his little sister as soon as he turned 18. He was advised against it over and over again. Everyone told him to go to college first, worry about her later but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

He won the case, and moved back to Kansas City, Missouri with his sister. The house was still there, it had been left to them in the will along with the money and possessions, but they hadn’t had access to it until Jayson turned 18. It was enough money that neither of them would have had to work for a good amount of time. Their father had been the CEO of a bank and their mother had owned a very successful real estate agency. However, just because he didn’t have to work, didn’t mean Jayson didn’t. A few months after they had settled into Kansas City he opened a small tattoo parlor down the street from the house.

When Tyler and Jayson heard about the prestigious school in Central, encouraged her to apply. She didn’t want to leave home at first but once she visited the school, she fell in love. Unfortunately, California is a long way from home. It seemed like a whole new world where boys were cuter and girls were richer. Tyler tried her best to fit in, but has yet to find her spot in the school. Until then, she’ll continue to wear her Chanel necklaces and smile until someone notices that she’s not an outsider.
