Appearence:
Jake is a cute guy, great smile, cute dimples, black hair with blue eyes. He doesn't think of himself as attractive though. Spending your whole life being told you are worthless makes your self-esteem pretty low. He dresses nice and tries to look presentable. He likes button up shirts with dark jeans; sometimes nice slacks. He isn't a flip-flop kind of guy and he has to be in the mood to wear shorts. And even then, he hates baksetball shorts, so he mostly wears cargo shorts.Personality:
Jake is tall and has some muscles; but nothing like an athlete would. He has a nice six pack but he struggles to mantain it because of his health. He has arm muscles and nice biceps, but he isn't cocky about his strength because he knows there are peopel out there with way more strength then he.
He has a long pink scar going down the middle of his chest; stopping just above his belly button. He also has a scar on the left side of his chest. He has seven horizontal scars under his bellybutton. These are all from open heart surgeries. He tends to wear shirts with high collars; because of his scar and because he thinks its weird when guys wear v-neck.
Jake is quiet when you first meet him, especially if you are girl. But once he feels more comfortable with you, he can be a goofball. He loves to joke around and laugh. He has a sarcastic sense of humor; so if you don't know that, the you are giong to think he is really rude. You have been warned.History:
Jake is a sweet guy, very caring. While he doesn't like confrontations; he will stand up when he thinks that there is something wrong going on. He has his opinions and its very hard to change them. He values people and their feelings more than most kids his age; even adults. He wants to change the way the world sees those who are "different." The word retard isn't in his vocabulary and if he hears you use it, he will explain to you why you shouldn't.
Jake stutters when he is nervous, which he gets easily. (Although, not on stage.) His nervousness usually acts up around his dad, brothers and girls that he is attracted to.
He is a friendly person despite being shy at first. He is there when you need him and has your back; endless you stab his. He doesn't forgive or forget easily. He holds grudges and gets hurt easily. He tends to jump to conclusions before he knows anything. He doesn't trust people very easily, so once you get his trust; don't break it.
Jake is one of those people who will always be there for you. He doesn't let things just slide, he will stand up for what is right. He is loving and caring, with a shy and naive side to him.
Jake was born on October 9th, 1995 to a girl who didn't even bother to name him. That seemed to set the precedent for the rest of his life. No one caring enough about him to ever really get to know him. Hell, even his own birth mom ran out on him before he was even cleaned and wrapped up in a blanket to be put in the nursery.Sample Rp:
Jake's chest was opened up for heart surgery just a few days after he was born. He has Teratology of Falot, Pulmonary Artesia and Pulmonary Hypertension. The first two are heart defects, and the last one is a severe lung disease which was caused by the Pulmonary Artesia. In a nut shell, he now takes forty-three pills a day, sleeps with oxygen at night, when he is in an airplane he wears oxygen and someday he will need a heart-lung transplant. He has had four surgeries all together. Three of them to replace a valve in his heart, the last one was to put in a pacemaker and a defibulator.
Jake was adopted after his first surgery by the Ransom family. At first things were perfect. He still had to stay in the hospital to get strength before going home. His dad, mom and two older brothers came to visit him every day. Lindsey; his mom had been told she couldn't have any more children, but they knew they wanted one more baby boy. Turns out, while they were waiting for Jake to heal in the hospital, she got pregnant. Everyone was ecstatic. Four boys. Life would be great!
Then Jake came home and that night Lindsey discovered she had lost the baby . . . ever since then, his dad blamed Jake for that. Was it rational? No. But his dad needed someone to blame and Jake was it. To add to that, the doctor told them about Jake's future and it was bleak, by sports outlook.
Jake's dad was a high defense attorney in New York City. Family is rich, high class, know a lot of powerful people; stuff like that. Appearances are everything. His two boys were getting scholarships for football. Jake on the hand, was weak; he couldn't play sports. Not only that, he was sick. Being a defense attorney; if anything in your life looked weak or vulnerable; your career could be history. Jake’s dad hated Jake for being sick. Told him on numerous occasions that Jake made the whole family appear weak. Jake’s dad not only emotionally abused him, but physically as well. Soon his two brothers joined in the on the hate-fest.
Jake’s mom, knew that he needed to get away. At the end of Freshman year Jake's mom agreed to send him out here to live in a small house inside the town. His parents pay for everything, and un-like most kids; he doesn't blow it on stupid things. He actually saves it and uses it for things he actually needs. He is smart with his money and doesn't spend it on stupid things. Which is probably why his dad agreed to it. Plus, he wouldn't have to see him anymore.
"Jacob!” His dad called from the barn, his voice ringing through the wooden building.Celeb:
“I’m right behind you.” Jake mumbled tiredly to his dad. He peered over his dad’s broad shoulders to see his two brothers. He grimaced at the sight of them and felt like running back into the house, but he didn’t. Jake had been adopted at birth, his father and brothers resenting him for that fact. Most of the time he hid the sadness from his friend. Really the only person who knew at school was Jordan, his best friend since second grade.
“Finally. Slow poke.” His father mumbled in a gruff voice.
Jake sighed and shook his head, his black bangs falling just above his eyebrows now. He ran a hand through his is natural black hair and picked up a pair of gloves from a pile of hay. His dad had never really quite understood that Jake’s heart and lung defect and how it made it hard for him to breathe. Jake had a serious life threatening lung disease along with a few serious heart defects as well. He pulled the reins into his strong tan hands and walked into a horse stall, grabbing a brush, running it over the horses back slowly…
Jake had always been around horses, and he wanted to keep it that way. Jake could always go visit his horse Lightning and immediately be calmed by the horse. He ran a hand down the horse’s nose slowly and peacefully.
Jake wore worn blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a red and white checkered button up short sleeved shirt. The top three buttons were undone to show off a white tee under the fleece button up.
“Jake, you better hurry up! Our visitor is going to be here soon!”His dad’s voice boomed once more. Jake sighed sadly.. Of course, he was never fast enough for his dad.. He was completely opposite of his brothers as well. He looked completely different from them as well. Because he was adopted he looked nothing like them, which he didn’t mind too much because his brothers were very plain looking. Jake was a lot cuter than them. But he was shy around girls despite how good he looked, never been on a date or had a first kiss. Oh well. He figured he would someday, he was only 16. He had just gotten his driver license a month ago. He drove a red beat up pickup truck from the 50’s. But he didn’t care, and besides he loved things from the 50’s! His grandparents even let him have their old record player for his room. But even if he didn’t like the 50’s the car ran good and that was all that mattered to Jake.
“’Kay dad!’ Jake called out and then finished up brushing the horse. He closed up the barn after feeding all the horses and walked outside to the front of the house where his mom was waiting with his brothers and dad. He stared at the gravel road in front of them, to the left of their front yard held four beat up trucks. To the right of that was the barn. Right in the middle was their small house. It wasn’t big, but it was two stories and was quite quaint.
