Appearence:
When you first take a look at Cammie, you'd notice the large, wild curls that sprout from the top of her head down to her shoulders. They are a naturally platinum blond, and they highlight her rather grey-blue eyes beautifully. She owns light freckles that connect her face to the rest of her body, and a small nose and rather average, puffy lips to bring everything together.Personality:
On second glance(assuming you looked at her face first glance), you'd notice that she has bangs long enough to hide what Cammie believes to be dull and lifeless eyes, preferring a deep brown or a light green/grey instead. While some may think it's some sort of hair fashion statement, truly, Chameleon just wants nothing to do with her eyes. She'd even prefer blind eyes to her own, because they always hold some sort of hope or loving of life in them, despite their condition.
You'd then begin to scale down to her freckled neck, and then her shoulders, which are slim yet able to keep her upright. Then are her arms. They are covered with freckles until you reach her elbow, in which then they diminish, yet do not disappear completely. Her torso is the same way, but only due to the fact that it does not always receive the sun it needs to form more freckles. Her belly has some, and then they stop until you reach her calves, where there are enough to tie everything together, but not enough to make her look like an ungodly spotted animal.
At 5 foot 9, Chameleon is a slender 109 pounds. She is very slim, obviously, yet is able to sustain some sort of muscle. She has malnutrition problems, and so always seems to look sick. When asked about the matter, Cammie would answer, "I'm just not that hungry."
Chameleon prides on most of her features having been taken from her father.
Chameleon won't ever be the loudest girl in the room. She wasn't in Australia and she won't be here in Central, California. It isn't in her nature. Like her name suggests, she likes to blend into the background, and see things pan out instead of conducting things her way. Her Host Family suggests that she is just not yet comfortable with America, despite her saying she enjoys California a lot. And to be true, she will never feel comfortable, seeing as she isn't even comfortable in her own skin, yet she does enjoy California and the sun and the sea. Not that she doesn't have that in Australia.History:
Cammie, being a runaway, isn't necessarily hiding from a dark past, rather, from the gossip and judging of the city. You'd think that as an exchange student, she'd want to learn as much as possible from this city. Truly though, whenever Cammie hears terrible news about someone, and notes the glee the speaker has of saying those news, her mouth dries, and her stomach clenches into a gajillion knots. So, she tries to stay as far away from gossip as possible. It's this that makes it difficult for her to move up to royal court. The reason she doesn't bump down is because she honestly would not place as a geek, or a nerd. She has everything it takes on the outside to be in the royal court, and yet, because no one knows what she is like on the inside, she cannot be placed on the royal court. Make sense?
Cammie has eyes that make her seem lifeless. And truly, she is lifeless. Emotions shown are usually weak, and she hardly ever cries in front of people. It could be because of her runaway group attitude, and that she does not want to be spoken of badly. Whatever the case, you'd be lucky to see Chameleon emotion up. Not that she doesn't. There are times when she needs to throw her pillow at the wall, and act out in rage, and she does do that. Just, not in front of people. Again, so she wouldn't be gossiped against. Cammie also suffers from anxiety during extreme nervousness, though it isn't a big a deal as her malnutrition. It is just the fear of being in a new country alone that could be giving her that.
Regarding love, and the reason her sexuality is listed as 'other' above, is due to the reason that she honestly does not care. It isn't a big deal to her right at this moment. This does not mean that she does not find anyone attractive. Rather, she doesn't know what she wants, and so she doesn't pride in it being the biggest part of her life, so she doesn't make it the biggest deal. There are quite a few things though, that she does like to fan over. She's a Potterhead, for instance, which is something that could push her towards being a part of the geek clique. If only people knew. Because it is something she grew up with, it's only natural for her, yet due to her somewhat anti-social attitude, no one would know unless they asked her when Harry Potter premiered in Australia, ect.
Chameleon, or her mama, before anyone asks, are no hippies. The name had just stuck when it was first spoken. "It was her big buggy eyes and the way her freckles seemed to change shades depending on the light. Reminded me of a chameleon. I thought it'd be cute." She says. Let's talk about how she was conceived.Sample Rp:
It was nothing crazy like a party and Margie had gotten too drunk. Actually, it's more of a sob story, really. She had let herself fall in love with a wonderful man. He was a sweetheart to her by buying her gifts, keeping his attention on her at all times, and staying faithful. At the time, Margie just didn't have much luck with other boys, and so this was definitely a deal for Margie.
It took the two a few months to get engaged, and then around 2 more months for Cammie to be conceived out of pure happiness and joy. They got married 3 months after that, and then Bo was shipped overseas. You see, he was part of the army. Did I tell you that? No? Oh, sorry. This is where the tears jerk. Not really. Long story short? Bo did not ever come home. He never met Chameleon, and Margie ended up as a widow, which only added to her depression. Chameleon helped a bit though, so that was good. Maybe it was that she was an easy baby? Whatever the case, the two luckily got through it, and with help from both grandmothers, Cammie and her mother got by pretty well.
When Chameleon was 5 or so, Harry Potter entered her life, and it never seemed to leave. Because she had no other family but her mother, she used them as her second family, adding more happy excitement into her life rather than the sadness of her father dying. It might be that Cammie didn't get a chance to meet her father, and so having something that she knew was going to stay, distracts her from the emotions of not knowing her father. Who knows.
At age 7, she moved in with her mother's mama, and life seemed to finally settle down. There was no need to worry over whether or not they were going to pay the bills(not that Chameleon would think of that), ect. Her grandmother was nice, and her other grandparents would either visit or be visited, and so the whole family kept together and stayed safe and warm. This concludes Chameleon's sob-story of a past, and it is safe to say that it ends happily.
Puffy lips pouted, pink lipgloss smearing over them quickly. She was running late, and this would not do. Now she was rushing, and it wasn't going to end well. It never did. Luckily, she didn't have to worry about her hair, seeing as no matter how unruly it was, it still looked good. Who am I talking about? None other than the awkward exchange student. Awkward, how? Awkward because she didn't know anyone yet, and she was going to be forced to meet people through the terrible school. School was bad no matter where Chameleon went. In Australia though, she doesn't have to worry about her name. She figured it was because they thought it was cool. Or, she liked to hope. Sadly though, this year she'd have to go as Cammie. It wasn't bad, just weird to be called that by everyone.Celeb:
Grabbing her bag, Chameleon left for school with her exchange partner, staying quiet as usual. She wore simply skinny jeans, a cute red top and matching flats. As a tall girl, and feeling awkward already, Cammie felt lanky walking next to her exchange partner. Because the other was shorter, and Chameleon was used to taller folk, tension began to build up inside of her. She knew this was no big deal, going to an American school, but her stomach began to clench as soon as she saw the different groups, and the large amount of people in them only raised anxiety levels. Clenching her bag tighter, Cammie gave her goodbye peace-sign to her partner before walking over to the other exchange students. Be they German, English, Australian, ect, at least they shared the same anxiety and worries. They could lean on each other, hopefully.
Chameleon was in her assigned home room classroom ages before the warning bell had rung. The other exchange students had bothered her a bit. They all talked about their own partners, and how they had already gone out shopping and bonded beautifully, whilst Chameleon hadn't with hers yet. It brought the anxiety back again, and her stomach had clenched, her mouth going dry. What if her partner was a faulty and she wasn't going to have the American Experience? Yes, that was selfish of her, but she hadn't come to America alone to sit at home.
