Personality:
Rio has average height and average weight. However, Rio is anything but average. She managed to get the best genes from both of her parents.
Long dark lashes frame her wide violet-blue eyes. She has a silvery eyeliner made just for her by Laura Mercier and wears it on an everyday basis. Her olive skin is free of blemishes. However, she does have a couple of freckles dotting her surgically enhanced nose. She manages to hide them with dabs of her tinted moisturizer. Her cheeks are naturally rosy due to her strict nightly skincare regimen. Her cheeks are also a bit on the full side so she sometimes adds bronzer to define her cheekbones better. Her plump heart-shaped lips are the only thing she normally leaves bare.
She suffered during her childhood due to her unibrow but now her trusted spa guru has styled it into thick perfection. Her plentiful golden brown locks fall to her elbows on most days when her hair isn’t curled or straightened. She sometimes puts it all on the top of her head to make a chic bun but ordinarily it’s down and natural with a touch of texturizing hair product.
A strict vegetarian diet and twice a week workouts keep her body looking fit. Rio practices yoga to keep her mind healthy as well as her body. Anyone who knows her would tell you that the mind part isn’t working. She isn’t bothered by her lack of curves, what bothers her is having to tailor most of her clothes because of her non-existent chest and backside. After her eyes, her favorite thing about her body is her never-ending legs. Her model looks have landed her various spreads on widely recognized magazines but jealous tongues would tell you that her Mom’s connections are the reason for those opportunities.
Fashion plays an important part of Rio’s life. It is also her way of judging people. If don’t wear designer clothes, you’re a nobody. If you only wear the newest and best brands, you’re a wannabe. She can always find the perfect balance between new high fashion pieces and last season’s trends. Her humongous closet has new additions constantly and she loves to experiment with texture and color. Her trademark is wearing fiercely short shorts, skirts, and dresses to showcase her shapely legs.

Rio deals with things rationally and logically. She also takes things in with her five senses in a literal, concrete fashion.
She lives in a world of facts. She lives in the present, with an eye constantly set on her surroundings to make sure that everything runs smoothly and systematically. She is big on honoring tradition and laws as long as it’s convenient. She has a clear set of standards and beliefs of how people should act. She has no patience for people that don’t act the way she believes they should.
Rio is a very take-charge person. She has a clear vision of the way things are supposed to be and it comes naturally for her to step into roles of leadership. She’s self confident and uses words as her weapon of choice when getting aggressive. She knows exactly what to say to break you. Being demanding and critical comes easily to her since she has such strong convictions of how things should be. She expresses herself freely if she thinks something or someone isn’t up to her standards. Although she enjoys playing games once in awhile, she prefers being honest and straight about everything.
When asked to describe Rio people usually opt for saying she’s a model citizen or a leader of sorts. She takes all of her commitments seriously. She likes interacting with people and likes to have a good time so she has trouble saying no to activities and parties since everything sounds exciting to her.
The thing she hates the most is being told she’s too rigid, although it’s partly true since she doesn’t accept anything outside of her own beliefs. She forgets to value other people’s opinions and hates anything not planned weeks in advance. When anyone accuses her of being rigid she finds a crazy way to prove them wrong but then goes right back to her carefully thought out ways.
Whenever she’s stressed out she immediately feels misunderstood and like people take her for granted. It’s hard for her to put her feelings into words and ever harder for her to admit she has feelings since she thinks she’s ‘above all that emotional drama’.
The most important thing to Rio is to have social order. She puts a lot of effort into keeping the cliques from changing too much and securing her spot at the top. She can scheme like no other and has the manipulation skills of a politician. Others could describe her as a much prettier mix of Hannibal Lecter and Hilary Clinton.
Her life goal is to be famous and influential. She hopes to either be president or host a classy show that talks about important issues and has heated discussions with world leaders. Anything that doesn’t somehow help her achieve this goal is unimportant to her.
Friends are more important to her than family although she does value her family and the connections they bring. Rio is very status-conscious and will only truly respect you is she feels you’ve achieved a great deal of success in society. It’s less likely for her to try controlling you if she sees you as powerful.
Generally, she’s sharp, enthusiastic, and witty. She laughs at jokes (and sometimes at people) and enjoys telling jokes (mostly at another’s expense). Her inner circle sees her as dependable and upbeat. They look to her for ideas, honest advice, and fun times.
You could bring any subject to her and she would have a lot to say about it. Rio has an opinion about anything and nothing can change it. She will rarely admit she’s wrong and will never apologize for saying what she thinks. She likes to appear like she’s together and in charge even in the moments when she feels a bit scattered. Sometimes she’s too straightforward and abrupt to the point where she steps on people’s toes unknowingly.

Conceived
If you want to know Rio’s story you might as well start at the very beginning. Rio was conceived at a charity event in Rio de Janeiro by the famous power couple, Damien Carmichael and Alicia Squire.
As everyone knows, Damien is a rock god famous enough to only be in a single name status. Kind of like Adele, Cher, Kesha, Rihanna, Drake, or Madonna, you know who they are by just a name. Her father is in direct competition with Bono regarding world fame. It’s been awhile since he’s written any new songs but he’s always touring performing past hits. He’s very ambitious and has worked extremely hard to be where he is today.
Alicia Squire is a little less known worldwide but she has many fans in the US for her starring roles on various romantic comedies. Her acting skills are a lot better than people guess. She does not rely solely on being her attractive self in the movies. She knows just how to act to appear charming and perfect whenever she’s on camera but in reality she’s a perfect nightmare. She’s a very demanding diva that takes everything for granted. She’s greedy and has been called a gold digger by the people that truly know her more than once.
As soon as she found out she was pregnant she immediately asked Damien to marry her. Damien agreed under the impression that Alicia was as sweet as she pretended to be when they were out together.
Their wedding was the event of the century.
After awhile, Damien and Alicia called for a press conference and announced her pregnancy. Rio was born on July 25 1995 right into the spotlight.
Childhood
Damien and Alicia bought a house in Central and decided to raise Rio there. After just a week of living there, Damien realized what a huge mistake it was to have married Alicia since instead of taking care of the newborn child, she spent all her energy on trying to get her pre-baby body back. Since Damien knew virtually nothing about raising a kid, he hired a highly recommended nanny, Jessica Wright.
While Damien and Alicia worked on their marriage, Rio was under the care of Jessica. Kindness flowed from her at every moment of the day. Even when Rio was being picky or troublesome, a genuine grin always managed to make its way into Jessica’s face.
Rio felt accepted and loved when she was little because of Jessica. Her parents stopped trying to save their marriage and dove into their work.
Rio hardly saw her parents so Jessica was like a mother and father to her. They watched Disney movies and played with Barbies all day long until she started Elementary School. Then Jessica read to her and helped her develop a passion for learning new things. She began making friends and Jessica would always give her advice about how to be a better friend. Whenever Rio felt underappreciated, Jessica would make awards for her. Jessica was there for Rio when she didn’t qualify for the Spelling Bee, when the boy next door told everyone she had cooties, and most importantly, when her parents finally decided to get an official divorce.
Teen years
Rio was a pretty happy girl when she was in 6th grade until she learned the devastating news. Jessica had terminal cancer. The day of her death was the saddest day of Rio’s life. She went into Junior High a newly made over version of herself. She erased all happy childhood memories from her life and decided that life was only worth it if you were in control of everything. She would not suffer again, she declared to herself. Her parents were still extremely busy with their career so they hired an everyday butler to take care of the house and Rio. Rio was the town’s ‘It Girl’ always sporting the best clothes from all around the world, thanks to her father. She ended Junior High on a great note, with a lot of respect from her teachers, classmates, and townsfolk. Her carefully selected best friends were already planning on ruling high school even though they were only freshmen.
Paris
Life was aesthetically perfect when her parents told her that she was selected out of all of the students in the area to attend high school in a private boarding school in Paris. Her friends almost died of jealousy but told her she had to accept. So she did. In Paris she learned to speak French and was considered the most popular girl in the boarding school.
She dated many boys briefly but wasn’t really interested in any of them. She found most of the boys her age to be a little boring and predictable, not to mention immature. That’s why when she met college boy, Jean Daniel, she was immediately smitten by his intelligent conversation and charming ways. They were dating happily for about 2 months when he broke it off, claiming she was too uptight.
In order to prove him wrong, she had a wild night of partying. Crazy videos of her were presented to the Dean of the school and she was encouraged to find another place to attend sophomore year of High School. In other words, they were too impressed by her status to kick her out, but that was exactly what they were doing.
She finished out the year on top; maintain her Alpha status in Paris despite the mishaps. Her father made sure to delete all evidence of her untamed partying and she pretended it never happened.
Now
Back in Central, she has no idea how this year will go. She’s going into sophomore year hoping nobody will ask too many questions and knowing how to avoid them if they do. During the summer, she had her Sweet 16, a photo shoot for Vogue, and she guest starred on her mother’s latest TV show. Going back to school paled in comparison of her fabulous summer. She had no idea how the kids would react to her being back but then again, she always did love a challenge.

Celeb:
When the bright sunlight woke me up I had a minor panic attack. I was supposed to have woken up a long time ago! My parents had left me with strict instructions to attend the ball. I was not under any circumstances to skip it.
I hopped out of bed and pulled out the glittering dress my mother had purchased especially for this occasion. She claimed that she'd seen important women from Capitol wearing it. Despite my hidden hatred for all things Capitol, I kind of liked the dress. It was soft pink and had a ballerina sort of look to it.
I put on my trademark pearl bracelet and matching necklace. I took advantage of the fact that my mother was off working to wear flats instead of the dreaded heels she always forced on me.
My dark blonde hair was tangled at the ends so I brushed it about a million times until it fell in soft curls. I covered my lips with cherry-flavored lip balm and inspected my face. I put on some moisturizer and decided there wasn't time for anything else. I don't usually wear make-up anyway. I already have the whole fresh-faced doe-eyed look that makeup is supposed to create.
After filling my bag with a few essentials, I got on the elevator and went downstairs. The friendly butler greeted me and I gave him a small smile before asking him if he could take me to the ball since I was so late.
Of course, he immediately agreed and took me in a flash. I said thank you in a syrupy sweet voice and made my way into the grand ballroom. I walked confidently to the center of the room and put a confused look on my face as if to say, what am I doing here? How did I end up being the center of attention? But of course, it was just a way for me to get noticed in the sea of District 1 society kids.
Immediately people started coming up to talk to me. I wore a sweet grin and pretended to be engrossed in the endless conversations about the new tributes and Capitol trends. After one of the girls began talking about a new hair dye that changes color throughout the day, I decided I had enough.
I excused myself politely and went to sit at the furthest table. I saw a waiter holding a tray of drinks and flirted with him until he offered one. I managed to scan the room while I drank the strange yet delicious bubbly pink drink. I didn't quite know what it was but it matched my outfit and I didn’t care.
